Cuevas de Pargo

Snapper Cave

Huge schools of yellowtail, grey, schoolmaster and lane snappers lend their name to Cuevas de Pargo (Snapper Cave) where they shelter amongst the tall and graceful gorgonians, sea rods and boulder corals. Towering tube sponges and brightly coloured sea fans adorned with flamingo-tongue cowries are scattered liberally across the reef providing plenty of protection and hiding places for scorpion fish and spotted moray eels.
