A colourful, shallow reef, the tip of Ballena can be seen protruding above the surface before falling down to the soft sandy bottom at 11m/36ft. Covering the reef fingers and outcroppings are stunning gorgonians, soft corals, and sea fans providing shelter for a kaleidoscope of fairy basslets, neon gobies and parrot fishes. Strong surge is often present at this site.
