The resplendent Palancar Gardens are filled with pristine lettuce corals, finger corals and brain corals. Huge rocky towers are covered by brilliant scarlet star corals and encrusting sponges of burnt orange and yellow, teeming with blue chromis, hamlets and juvenile wrasse. Fields of golden gorgonians, black feathery hydroids and elegant seafans adorn the sloping drop-offs and channels as they stretch down into the sand where mermaid fans and leafy algaes attract hawksbill and green turtles to stop and forage for food before they drift lazily along on the current.
