Del Mar's sloping, rocky bottom is filled with stunning stony and encrusting corals and vibrant vase and tube sponges, home to a wide variety of fish and critters, including some that are not always easily found on the bigger reefs such as the longsnout seahorse and longlure frogfish. Just beyond the dock the bottom slopes gently downwards towards a sandy bottom scattered with pretty coral outcroppings. Head north along the base of the hill before turning around.
