The Virgin Mary Reef is a long stretch of reef that starts at 25m/82ft and is populated by Mediterranean ball sponges, anemones and encrusting sponges. The rocky ledges of the reef tumble down down to almost 50m/164ft making this a popular site with both recreational and technical divers. Two statues can be located within a small stretch of the Virgin Mary Reef and a third can be found on the seabed, having been lowered into place by various divers or dive centers over the years, the statues represent the Virgin Mary, St Charbel and St Elias.
